Angel Antonio Casanova, 79, a resident at Hartwyck Cedar Brook of Plainfield, NJ passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at JFK Medical Center, Edison, NJ.
Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico Mr. Casanova immigrated to the United States in 1951 and settled in New York City before moving to Freehold, NJ 5 years ago.
Mr. Casanova was a US Army Veteran and served during the Korean War.
He is the beloved husband of 58 years to Virginia Casanova (nee Nunez), devoted father of Rosie Chavez and husband Albert, Antonio Casanova and wife Norma Yvette Casanova, Ivette Casanova and the late Emma Casanova, loving grandfather of Albert, Garrett, Kiera and Kristin.
A service will be held at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ on Wednesday at 10 am.
Cremation will follow at Somerset Hills Crematory, Basking Ridge, NJ.
The family will receive their friends on Tuesday from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Unity Church of Christ, 735 Rutland Avenue, Teaneck, NJ 07666 would be appreciated.
